Mrs O’Connor, Head Teacher
My name is Mrs O’Connor and I am the Headteacher at Edale Rise primary. I started here in September 2015 but was a teacher here for four years from 2004-2007. I have taught in Nottingham schools since 1992 and my previous job was as Headteacher at a school in Carlton. I love working at this school as the staff, children, parents and governors are always positive and helpful. I live in Nottingham and have a husband and two boys who are 18 and 16 years old. I love exercise, singing in a rock choir and having fun!

Mr Crosby, Deputy Head Teacher
My name is Mr Crosby and I am the Deputy Head Teacher and I also teach in Year 6. In my spare time, I love to read books – scary books, funny books, science books, books about Vikings – all sorts of books! I also enjoy playing the guitar and going for long walks (especially in woods and forests) and looking and listening to the wildlife.
Miss Grimshaw, Year 2 Class Teacher
I am Miss Grimshaw. I have worked at the school since January 2016. On my days off I like walking in the mountains. I am also a yellow belt at karate, which helps keep me fit. My favourite subjects are History and Maths.
Miss Barker, Year 1 Class Teacher
Hello! My name is Miss Barker and I am the Year 1 teacher. I have been teaching at Edale Rise since November 2016. I have always loved to learn and it is my joy to share this philosophy with the children at Edale! In my spare time I love singing, reading, yoga and bouldering. I also really enjoy sharing good food, going on walks and playing board games with my family and friends.
Mrs Reynolds, Nursery Class Teacher
Hello, my name is Mrs Reynolds and I am the Reception teacher. I have been working at Edale Rise Primary School since I became a teacher. I spend lots of time with my family, they keep me very busy at the weekends doing lots of baking and painting and blowing lots of raspberries of course! I love films and really enjoy going to the cinema with my husband, Neil. We don’t always agree on what film we should go and see so I have become very good at beating him at rock, paper, scissors!
Mrs Pawluk, SENCO
Guess who? I like to run to keep fit, ride my bike and paddle down a river in a kayak to relax. I love reading Alex Rider stories and my favourite film is ‘My Cousin Vinny’. I have two fabulous children who make me very proud and I love working at Edale Rise… have you guessed? Mrs Pawluk.

Miss Brittain, Year 4 Class Teacher
I am the Year 4 teacher. I love our school and have worked here for over 18 years. What a long time! When I am not at school I like to spend time in my garden with my partner, Philip and my step-daughter, Lucy. I worked as a gardener before becoming a teacher and it is my favourite hobby. We also love walking, especially with my dog, Dave. When I was younger I completed a very long walk called The Pennine Way. It took me 22 days to do it! Now i stick to shorter walks because I am very old and not so fit.
Mr Scutts, Year 3 Teacher
Hey, I’m Mr Scutts! I trained as a teacher and started working at Edale Rise in 2017, after years of other things like teaching English in Togo, Africa – where they speak French – and coaching sports to children around Nottingham. I love sports and have played American Football for years, although I’ve tried lots of others like Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu and Boxing too. I also love to go running with my dog, a chocolate labrador called Billy or swim in my spare time. I really enjoy seeing the world and experiencing new things, I think my favourite place is the USA and I’d love to live there at some point.
Miss Welton, Year 5 Class Teacher
Hi, My name is Rachel Welton and I am the Year 6 teacher at Edale Rise. I have taught lots of different year groups since I became a teacher, but my favourite is Year 6! I learnt to be a teacher in Brighton, by the sea and it is still my favourite place in the world. My two children were born there and we visit a lot. I moved back to Nottingham (because I am from here) fourteen years ago, so my children (who are now teenagers) have grown up here. When I am not at school, I love meeting my friends, reading, going for walks, cooking and travelling, especially in Europe. I love to spend time with my family, who really make me laugh!
Mrs Dolby, Year six Teacher
Hello! I am Mrs Dolby. I have been teaching Year 6 in Nottingham schools since 2003. I came to Edale Rise in 2018 and I love it here! I live with my husband and our two girls. My favourite subject is English. I also love art and like to be creative. In my spare time, I like to be with my family. We like the theatre, cinema, visiting galleries and eating in restaurants as well as being outdoors, exploring forests and the countryside. I went to university in London and try to go back as often as I can. I adore animals, especially dogs. My favourite music is 1990s indie music but my favourite singer will always be Elvis Presley.

My name is Ahida Parveen. I support the children with English as an additional language. In my free time I am learning Arabic and enjoy reading books as well as gardening. But most of all I enjoy spending time with my children and my family.

Mrs Freeman, Senior TA / Forest School Practitioner
My name is Carolyn Freeman and I have worked in this school for 24 years. I have several roles within school. I am the Senior Teaching Assistant in our lower school (years 1, 2 and 3) and am the Schools Learning Mentor. I am a qualified Forest School Practitioner and lead Forest Schools for all of our classes, from nursery to year 6, throughout the year. I have three grown up sons and four grandchildren.

My name is Mrs Sadecka, I came to England from Warsaw, capital city of Poland, where I was born and lived most of my life, just by the White House.
I have been working at Edale Rise since 2007. I found my job very interesting and rewarding. I love to see our children growing and becoming smarter through the years. Part of my work is to help Polish and Czech parents to understand the English education system too.
I am the proud mother of two sons and newborn daughter and happy wife 🙂 The variety earrings, high heels, the WWII military, bunkers in France and the tiny garden they are my little world of my hobbies… I love to eat snails cooked according to French cuisine too 🙂
Mrs Ferguson, Teacher
My name is Mrs. Ferguson and I have been working at Edale Rise on and off since 1991! I have even taught some of the Mums and Dads of the children in our school! I am a Reading Recovery Teacher which means I work with children who need some extra help with their reading for a little while. Seeing children reading successfully and for pleasure puts a big smile on my face.

Howdy! My name is Miss Frances Hadfield and I am a teaching assistant at Edale Rise. You can usually find me in the upper part of school. I love singing, reading books(Harry Potter is my favourite!) art, music and trying different foods. When not at school, I also like to visit my family and friends and go on adventures to different places.

Hi, my name is Jennifer Cross and I work as a Teaching Assistant in year 3 and in the Foundation Unit.
I first started working at Edale Rise in August 2016 and before this I was mainly living in Germany and spent 2 years in Canada, where I worked in British run schools through the Armed Forces.
I feel very blessed to work in such a lovely school, where the staff and children are amazing.
In my free time I enjoy travelling, spending time with the family / friends, going for a run, reading a good book, chilling out on the sofa with a good movie and climbing Snowdon.

Hi, my name is Katie Page and I am a Teaching Assistant in Year 5. I have been at Edale Rise since September. Before working here I was mainly based around Germany working for SCE schools, which are British run schools for children of Armed Forces personnel posted overseas. I loved working all over Germany, it is a lovely country and I still miss it sometimes. I thoroughly enjoy my job and have a wide range of qualifications and experience across both key stages.
I have travelled to a lot of countries and enjoyed exploring their different cultures, scenery and food. I love up-cycling old furniture to give it a new lease of life, socialising with friends movies and a wide variety of music.

Mrs Bauder is Nottingham Forest mad (but anyone who knows her knows this)! She also likes to keep herself super fit by running, climbing, swimming and playing netball – this is what makes her such a fantastic PE teacher.
