 September Plans: Letter to Parents

Home Learning Links:

https://www.thenational.academy/online-classroom – When you access the website, it will give you the choice of either ‘schedule’ or ‘subject’. We recommend that you access the lessons via the ‘schedule’ option. This will give you three lessons a day, totaling three hours of work. The lessons will then build on each other over the schedule. By the end of the schedule, children will have covered a range of subjects including English and maths.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize – When you access this website, you will see there is an option for ‘Daily Lessons’. When you click on this you will then be asked to select your child’s year group. Once you have accessed this, you will see a whole collection of lessons for the whole week to choose from so please look carefully at the dates.

If your child has already completed their Oak Academy lessons then we recommend that you let your child choose which lessons they would like to complete from the BBC. They may choose to do some additional maths or English or pursue their interests in other subjects such as science or art etc.

https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/ – this website is free and has complete lessons for every age group. This is an exceptional resource!

https://www.audible.com/about/newsroom/stories-help-audible-stories-lets-anyone-anywhere-listen-for-free/ – audible is free during the period of school closure. This means your child can access 1000’s of audio books completely free of charge.

http://www.charlesdickens.southwark.sch.uk/ – Description: the Jenny Wren Virtual School SEN Hub offers daily lessons for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, focusing on Makaton and a daily activity to complete with a parent or teacher.
